Brothers Niko and Vasili Dionysopoulos came to America in the late 60’s. They started by selling produce to the Greek churches and then to the businesses in Greektown. They opened Apollo Market on Harper Ave in 1968 till 1970. Then they purchased the Golden Fleece on April 7th 1970. They worked ’till the late 2000’s. Their sons Spero and Yanni took over the family business and remodeled the building and concept after 50 years to continue to give Metro Detroit the authentic Greek experience and hospitality. Testimonials from our Guests

“There is not enough GOOD things to say about this place! My wife and I went there yesterday (2/14/2021) and immediately noticed the remodel, and it was stunning. The entire place gives off the feel of being home and that’s exactly how the staff and management treated us. Not only were we treated like family but we were amazed at how good the food was. I remember it being delicious but I had to stop myself from licking the plate. Thank you to everyone there for the wonderful experience, you are our go-to Greek restaurant .”

“This was my father’s favorite restaurant so we would come in somewhat frequently and it’s always amazing. Best gyro in town.”

“My friend and I were actually planning on going to a different restaurant, which ended up being closed. THANK GOODNESS, because we ended up at The Golden Fleece Instead! The Greek Trio was phenomenal, our waitress was friendly and helpful, and we even got to try a piece of the chef’s authentic birthday cake. I cannot recommend this place enough!”
